Shopify theme development

Your store, built out section by section

Most of my work is this: a brand already sells on Shopify and needs the store to do more. A product page that explains a treatment, a landing page for a campaign, filters that work on mobile, a subscription buy box. Each piece is a section with settings, so your team changes text, images and layout without asking a developer.

What you get

  • Sections and blocks built to your design, pixel for pixel, for mobile and desktop
  • Every setting the merchant will touch is a theme setting, not a code change
  • Work ships to a draft theme first; the live store changes when you say so
  • Performance kept in check: no page builders, no extra apps for what a section can do

Proof

PURISHBeauty, DTC, Germany

173 features on one theme, kept editable in the admin

The longest-running theme in the list: 1,027 commits since 2023. Collection filters and sorting for desktop and mobile, a price range, a new search, a blog on the product page, a countdown bar, a login form. Every one of them is a section or block the team configures themselves.

  • Collection filtering and sorting built for both breakpoints separately
  • Product page with a blog, a countdown bar, small cards and text-with-video sections
  • Three years of refactoring so the theme stays fast while it grows

HomeVitalHealth tests, DTC, Germany

Sixty features in one summer: subscriptions, gifts, a store locator

A store that needed a lot at once. A buy box for subscription products with selling plans, an automatic buy-X-get-Y gift rule, a store locator with the client’s own addresses geocoded, a landing page system, blog sections from the Figma design, breadcrumbs for every page type.

  • Selling-plan buy box rebuilt to the client’s mobile reference
  • Store locator section with addresses geocoded from the client’s export
  • Landing pages assembled from configurable sections instead of one-off templates

Dr. Balwi ShopHair care, DTC, Germany

A product page that sells a treatment, plus checkout extensions

A product page assembled from what a medical brand needs to convince: ingredients, image scales, buy-together, reviews, testimonials, FAQ, a dynamic form. Around it a drawer, a newsletter, banners for studies, and five info pages built from Figma. The checkout got its own extension app.

  • PDP sections: ingredients, image with scales, slider, tabs, buy-together schema
  • Checkout UI extensions in a dedicated app
  • A second theme for the relaunch, built in parallel as a draft

VeneeraDental, DTC, five markets

One theme for five countries, checkout extensions for nine

The same theme runs veneera.de, .com, .nl, .it and .es. Before/after banners, tabs, cards, show-more text and custom headings are sections shared across markets. The checkout extension app is deployed per market: br, de, eu, fr, it, nl, uk, us and the shared one.

  • Before/after banner and slider for a visual product
  • Sections shared by five storefronts, configured per market
  • Nine checkout extension deployments from one repository

Questions

Can you take over a theme someone else built?

Yes. Most of the stores in my work list came with an existing theme, often a heavily modified Dawn, Impact or Prestige. I read the code first, then add to it in the same style rather than rebuilding.

Do I need a designer?

If you have a Figma file I build to it. If not, I can work from a reference store and your brand assets; for larger pages a designer is worth it.
